@Cathie et Michel: It is part of a series of tunels that where dug out of rock, to make a underground hospital, during the second world war, It was not used as a hospital. and some of the tunnels were not completed. The construction of this place is amazing!
I shall post a commentary with a 2nd photograph tomorrow :)

@Sriram: There is a recording playing, of people cutting away the rock with pick axes, very spooky indeed :)

@Riya: Thank you Riya, profound is the right word for this place, it's a place where you find yourself counting your blessings. The hardship of the people who worked in creating this remains in evey fiber of the place.
