Underground

Following on from my photo of the Underground hospital Jersey CI. here is a brief description. The tunnels of the Underground Hospital are a work of engineering genius. The whole of the complex was excavated on a slope, so that by an amazing, array of pipes and culverts, it would drain naturally. This was designed to keep the tunnels free from damp and condensation. This system still works to this day, keeping the tunnels dry.
There are over a kilometer of tunnels, with air conditioning and heating, that make up this remarkable subterranean complex!
there was only the light from the tunnel, and sadly I Had no tripod, or this shot would have been sharper :) but I hope it shows the scale of things.
