Scarborough, Nth Yorkshire. just along the coast from Whitby. They were building and refurbishing Beach Huts along the sea front. The next few posts are from a day out we had there :) Just want to say a very big thank you to everyone who has commented on my holiday series so far. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at and to comment on my pics :) Sorry if I've not got around to thanking you all personally.
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)
I really appreciate all your comments, thank you so much. I'm only sorry I've not got time to respond. I do read all the comments and will try to answer any questions you have about my posts :)

That is one super colourful composition. Well spotted. I bet now they have been painted, those beach hut owners will see their yearly price go up by double.
25 Jul 2007 3:49am
@Richard_Irwin: Thank you Richard :) there were not many in use while we were there, but that could have been the weather, or more likely you are right and they put up the prices! it was good to see that they have built new ones, and refubished some of the older ones too.
A totally different perspective! Great colours, very pleasant to look at!!

@Kaddy: Cheers Kaddy :)
Those European colors. This shot would remind me of my days in Holy Loch, Scotland, except that I don't ever remember it being that sunny in Scotland. Certainly, there was a lot of color in Scotland, which I took to be, in some small measure, compensation for the overcast weather.
25 Jul 2007 9:19am
@Twelvebit: This was one of the better days for good weather, so we were very lucky :)
What a bright and funny picture! Very well done.
25 Jul 2007 9:40am

25 Jul 2007 9:43am
@tyan: Thank you tyan :) I think that they were still working on them, some were being used but not these ones.
So pretty, beach huts all in a row! Great composition and such vibrant colours. Read that these beach huts are rather limited in number and are very much desired.
25 Jul 2007 9:48am
@aggie: thanks aggie, yes they can be very expensive if you wished to buy one, at one time in Dorset UK, they were selling at a amazing £160,000!!!! but now they have dropped in price by about half.
wow, what colors
25 Jul 2007 10:26am
@Riya: It was very colourful brightend up the place :)
Beautiful colors that break up the repetition of the shapes. Good angle! About the damage to the trees, it was done by beavers, not by muskrats. Beavers are a lot more difficult to photograph though, they are really suspicious and dive at the slightest sign of trouble. For my last weekend's turtle pic, it seems that you got the wrong one. Try the album "Lac Boivin", it's the last one in the list. The other turtles were from April.
25 Jul 2007 10:58am
@Wolfgang Prigge: Cheers Wolfgang :) I thought it might have been beavers, but wasn't sure. Oooops! I'll take another look, thank you.
This is a positively colorful and exciting shot; good angle, wonderful composition.

Quintessential English beach huts well captured in their full colour glory. I hope to see Scarborough some time. We have a pale imitation at our local Brighton Beach in Melbourne.
BTW I hope you are not too affected by the floods currently davastating Gloucestershire and surrounds.
25 Jul 2007 7:18pm
@tengtan: Thank you tengtan, mercifully we have no problem with the floods where I live, we have been flooded in the past! but we seem to have escaped this time. thank goodness!
Very beautiful shot! I am glad that you are doing fine.
25 Jul 2007 9:08pm
@rags: Thanks Rags :) The weather here today has been very bad, lots and lots of rain! some of the country lanes were flooded so we had to find different ways to get out! Sunshine is forcast for tomorrow :)

@Soodabeh: You are very welcome Soodabeh :) Thank you for your very kind comments too :)
Absolutely beautiful, as everyone has already told you. Wonderful colours and great framing. Now don't take this as a criticism, because it's just me thinking out loud on the possibilities here... I do not believe that you have to do any perspective correction on this one, necessarily. I did, however, try it in Photoshop, and found that by dragging both sides, it's possible to line up all the verticals perfectly. It gains in architectual correctness, but in side by side comparison, some may feel that the original has more drama to it. Lovely as it is, in any case.
26 Jul 2007 12:54am
@Andrew Gould: Thank you for your comments, ideas & suggestions Andrew, I'm hoping to get photoshop for my birthday, and then I can try some experimenting :)
