On our journey we stopped off a Castle Howard, a beautiful stately home, this is from one of the many ponds in the grounds. Unfortunatly, we couldn't take shots of the building as, there was a film crew there, and the building was surrounded with lighting equipment, etc, also no photography was allowed inside :(I took a suggestion from Rahul to play with the contrast and midtone setting, this is the result! :)
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)
I really appreciate all your comments, thank you so much. I'm only sorry I've not got time to respond. I do read all the comments and will try to answer any questions you have about my posts :)
Wow.... beautiful tones! Brilliant work on this! Special!

@Sriram: Thank you very much, Sriram, I was curious to try out some simple effects :)
AWESOME Mary, so it does work, doesn't it ?? LOL!!! The way the background has disappeared here and the details of the main subject are still intact is brilliant. It can sure go on the wall anyday, would definetly make a great piece of deco. :-)
And the best part is that its just 2 mins of processing work that does all this magic for you... tsk tsk. :-) Probably this is why i am so in love with photoshop now.

@Rahul: I certainly does Rahul :) I used Microsoft Office picture manager, which seems limited, but was still happy with the result, not sure if I remember how I actually did it though LOL! :D I've asked my son to help me take away the two bugs in the photo, think I need to go into paint though, to do that :) Thank you again Rahul for your continued support, I very much apprecitate, it :) Have a great week pal.
Ok, i see two black spots on the petals there, just dab them with the clone tool and you have a perfect image here pal.

@Markus: Thank you very much Markus, I'm going to college in the new year, to do a course in Photoshop, I can't wait!
I like the way it's all by itself, without leaves, with nothing to distract. They weren't filming continuation to Brideshead Revisited were they:)? Did you manage to get to that lovely fountain?
30 Jul 2007 3:14pm
@red queen: Thanks rq :) Apparently they were filming Brideshead for the Cinema, I over heard someone say that Micheal Gambon and Emma Thomson, were there, but we didn't see them. I did get to the fountain, tomorrow and fridays pic are of it, there was no water running though, which was a shame.
Amazing macro!
30 Jul 2007 3:47pm
@Myst: Thank you Myst, I had to be held by my husband to save me from falling in the water to get this one LOL :D I'm putting together a series of macro work at the moment, which is great fun and also a challenge :)
The PP with the black in the background certainly brings out the whitish lily with the contrast. Fine details well captured.
