This is an atempt at adding a blue sky to the background as the sky was very overcast. I did it all with the paint brush, I'm sure there is an easier way but I've yet to find it :) It's my first attempt so please be kind LOL :D Statue of Constantine outside York Minster.
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)
I really appreciate all your comments, thank you so much. I'm only sorry I've not got time to respond. I do read all the comments and will try to answer any questions you have about my posts :)

@Shahab: Than you Shahab :) I had to use the paint brush, in paint shop pro 7 as I don't really know what to do at the moment :) but I'll keep practising and hopfully I'll get better :)
Nice shot Mary, but there are a few problems in the back by the left smal little tower.

@Henk Goossens: Thanks Henk :) I noticed that problem too and a few more! I will hopfully get better with lots of practice :)
I absolutely LOVE the camera angle. I just did a sky substitution as well - in my post from today ("Old Mill"), using the Photoshop CS2 tools "magnetic lasso," "blur," and of course the paintbrush.

@Ken McCoy: Cheers Ken :) Ooo! it all sounds so technical :) that's why I'm going to do an absolute beginners course in Photo Shop, at college in the new year. I have paint shop pro 7, Unfortunatly I don't have a clue how to use it yet :)
The POV is well chosen for an imposing image.
Quite a commendable job of sky rendering for a first effort. I use Photoshop and the colour selection tool which usually works well for light skies, and then just fill with a suitable sky blue. As always with using selection tools, one needs to refine the selection at zooms of around 200% or so to iron out the fine details like the one that has been pointed out here.
Hats off to your experimentation and endeavours - the only way to achieve mastery.

@tengtan: Thank you very much tengtan :) I'm such a novice at this, I found out about the zoom by accident! then when I went back to correct the missed bits and mistakes, I couldn't find how to get the colour I'd used back LOL :D lucky I kept the original so I can go back and have another go :)
I like the image and the fact that you attempted something new with it. Congrats on a pretty good first effort, MaryB.

@badala: Thank you as always badala :)
Mary, Adding skies is a lot easier with Photoshop, in my current series all the shots have photoshop skies, there was no sky when i shot those LOL!!! All washed out skies. Arrgggg my email just cant get thru, else you dont have to suffer so much to replace the skies buddy. :)
