Shutterbug from Chennai, Indiagood one! maybe a little tighter cropping would have serve the picture better?! perhaps!? 13 Aug 2007 5:39am @Shutterbug: Thank you Shutterbug :) Behrooz from Tehran, IranI like that old feeling. It's such a beautiful shot, MaryB. 13 Aug 2007 5:47am @Behrooz: Thank you for your visit and very kind comment Behrooz :) Vanessa from Kent, United KingdomOH wow reminds me of the old Bethnal Green, London. Love the BW work Mary, fab shot 13 Aug 2007 5:50am @Vanessa: Thanks Vanessa :) it was so strange to see this elderly gent with his wheelbarrow, walking at speed down the hill, it was a must capture definately. I managed to get another pic, as he was crossing the road, this one didn't work as good though has I got the bollards on the road in the background! made it look to modern. @ColNed Pictures: Thank you again ColNed for your kind comments :) Nickyj from United KingdomBrilliant capture Mary and the shades "age " the picture sort of freezing time if that makes sense - I love it and cant wait to see more from your week. 13 Aug 2007 8:47am @Nickyj: I get what you mean hun! It was such an unusual sight, if it wasn't for the cars going by, It would have looked like we had been transported back in time :) @Dimitrios: Thank you Dimitrios, your very kind :) Anne from White Rock, CanadaReally nice shot! A long time since I left England but I still miss the look and feel of those old brick and stone walls. B&W was a great choice for this one :-) 13 Aug 2007 9:39am @Anne: Thank you again Anne:) there is a link in one of my replies here with the colour version, if you want to have a look :) {H} creatives from Santa Clara, United StatesWow, Mary...428 captures...! LLike the blur on this one actually....gives it character. Nice! p.s. sorry haven't been back to your site for a return visit. Been busy at work...but I'm hoping to get back to p-blogging soon! Cheers! B-) 13 Aug 2007 9:44am @{H} creatives: Thank you H for your comment and your visit, I appreciate it, especially as you are so very busy at the moment, I hope you get to have some free time soon to relax :) take care of yourself. I know 428! is a lot of captures for 1 week! my family think that I'm a little crazy, and the memory on the computer is starting to groan from the amount of shots I've uploaded to it! LOL:D Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesI like his right foot lifted in walking along. He is a great capture, MaryB. Nicely done in BW. You have a BW muse, too. 13 Aug 2007 10:34am @Viewfinder: Thanks VF, he was walking very swiftly down that hill, for his age :) @tyan: Thank you tyan :) I was really happy that I manage to capture him before he crossed the road. Brian from West Lafayette, United StatesVery nicely done! I love the framing, with the suggestion of a secret garden beyond the wall. You've really captured a slice of life here! 13 Aug 2007 1:31pm @Brian: Thank you Brian, thats a very kind comment :) Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United StatesI like the blur, too. Along with the wall, it captures a snse of "period." Add a little sepia tone and it could be a photo from the 1930s. 13 Aug 2007 1:35pm @Ken McCoy: I did as you suggested Ken, it looks brilliant,so I've decided that I will have it printed and framed for my summerhouse in the garden, thank you :) Jen from Alpharetta, United StatesI like the blur too...very nice. Looks like an old photo from days gone by! 13 Aug 2007 1:41pm @Jen: Thank you Jen, I was suprised when I saw him he looked like he had come from the past! Josh from New York, United StatesThis shot really takes me back in time. It's great. 13 Aug 2007 2:47pm @Josh: Thank you Josh I appreciate your comments and visits :) Soodabeh from Yazd, IranNice B&W. These natural moments are always exciting and interesting to capture. Well done. 13 Aug 2007 2:53pm @Soodabeh: Thank you Soodabeh, I agree, I was very excited to see this man with his wheelbarrow, just walking down the road, it's not a usual sight :) Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWow, Mary. There's a wonderful sense of "old world-ness" that you've captured in this shot! I really like it. Makes me wish I could be there too. :) 13 Aug 2007 3:14pm @Rebecca: Thank you Rebecca your comments are always so kind and encouraging :) @hrg: Thank you hrg, for you very kind comments and also for visiting my p- blog :) Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI love photos like this. Maybe the black and white makes it appear like the countries behind the iron curtain. (I'm old enough to remember those times, and I've travelled in some of those places at the time.) I would love to see a color version of it. 13 Aug 2007 5:01pm @Wolfgang Prigge: http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j135/snow_flake58/P1040629.jpg Saed from Mashhad, IranWow... 428 captures!! So you have enough photos for more than one year! 13 Aug 2007 5:35pm @Saed: :) yes Saed, I think I'm addicted to taking photographs! LOL :D my camera is always with me where ever I go! RoBeRt from cAnDy LaNd, United Stateswonerful, amazing shot Mary ....I feel like I stepped back in time ......BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVO !!! 13 Aug 2007 5:59pm @RoBeRt: Thank you RoBeRt your kind comments are always so encouraging :) @JJCN: Thank you very much JJCN :) Harald from Frankfurt am Main, GermanyA very interesting picture with a nice blur. May be in a sepia tone you can more underline the character from an old photo. Well done. 13 Aug 2007 6:48pm @Harald: Thank you Harald, I have now tried the sepia and it gives it a really nice effect, and i will have it printed in sepia to hang on the wall in the summerhouse we are building in our garden :) Markus from Reading, United KingdomThis is sooooo beautiful, I don't know what else to say! :-) 13 Aug 2007 7:26pm @Markus: Thank you Markus, thats very kind of you :) @LuisRodrigues: Thank you Luis, I didn't want to let this one get away :) Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, CanadaI just looked at the color version, and for me the sadness is gone, I swear I can even see the spring in his step. An altogether different emotion, thanks Mary! 13 Aug 2007 8:31pm @Wolfgang Prigge: I'm glad it worked :) I agree it does change the emotion in the shot, I'm glad you mentioned it. :) Thank you Wolfgang. bronzebilly u.k. from cardiff, United Kingdomgreat capture MaryB--very vintage appearance--nice work--billy 13 Aug 2007 9:49pm @bronzebilly u.k.: Thanks again billy for your kind words and support :) Amir from Fort Worth, TX, United StatesThis is very nice.
