ColNed Pictures from Amersfoort, NetherlandsNice shot, great composition.. good work. 28 Aug 2007 7:08am @ColNed Pictures: Thank you ColNed :) this is one of many statues at this Cathedral. @badala: Thank you badala, the statues at this cathedral are wonderful. @tyan: These beautiful statues are at the main entrance to the Cathedral, the choir was practicing the day we visited, such a beautiful sound :) Manuela Photography from Hainburg, GermanyVery good framing and excellent texture. 28 Aug 2007 7:42am @Manuela Photography: Thank you Manuela, this is a beautiful place to visit :) @Paulo: Thank you Paulo, I wish I had the time to take more photgraphs here, but will be returning soon :) @Catalin: Many thanks Catalin I appreciate your kind comments :) @Dimitrios: Thank you Dimitrios. :) tyan from Singaporethanks very much for sharing, mary, what you've said saddens me a lot,'children having children indeed',and yes, soon we will be producing a generation that is amoral and increasingly depraved. When i was teaching i did counseling as well and i also face kids who got pregnant with people they know online, and after having the baby, they dont know whether the baby should grow up knowing them as 'mom' or lie to them as 'sister'.Scarred for life. There are also girls who willingly have sex with multiple partners because they wanted to feel loved and wanted. There are also those who inflict pain on themselves, cutting themselves with scissors, knives and what not. This is really a sad generation we are living in Mary. And i think it will only get worse. 28 Aug 2007 9:33am @Soodabeh: Thank you my dear Soodabeh, the sculptures in this Cathedral are a beautiful sight to see :) Lorraine from CanadaOh God, MaryB, this is so, so WOW there's power in the light and shadow, there's beauty in the angel, Michael, perhaps? It is all SUBLIME 28 Aug 2007 10:09am @Lorraine: Oh my goodness thank you very much Lorraine! I'm really pleased you like it, thank you again :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesOh I do like this one Mary! Such nobility on this face. The details are incredible; even to the veins on the hand. As I consider who sculpted this statue, and of she who photographed it so strikingly, I am reminded of what it says in Philippians 4:8. If only the truth and value of those beautiful words would sink into our hearts... 28 Aug 2007 10:38am @Viewfinder: Bless you VF, thank you. :) Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, CanadaPerfect the way you brought out the statue, in the background we can barely see the opposite wall of the church. This way we know where the statue is situated, but without being distracted by any other element. Very nice! 28 Aug 2007 11:49am @Wolfgang Prigge: Thank you Wolfgang. :) @Lucile: Thank you very much for your very kind comments and your visit :) @medam961: Thank you medam, for your very kind comments :) they are greatly appreciated. @Brian: Thank you Brian, your very kind :) Harald from Frankfurt am Main, GermanyA perfect play with light and shadow. That look in his eyes, so regal and yet so gentle at the same time. And the amazing tones and contrast of light and dark here. Perfect composition, Mary!
