This is one of the white Lionesses, who lives at the safari park .
Cropped to get rid of the ugly but very necessary security fence to her right.

@Rob B: Lol :D......... you ought to see the male Lion he looks like he's wearing the powder puff on his head lol :)
Thanks Rob :)

@Organik: Thank you hun :) it was a really magical day I was in awe of these big cats but the giraffes, walking between the cars was totally amazing!
@rainsocks: They were! they were around the perimiter of the fence, so they stayed quite far away from all us nosey people :) Thank you rainsocks :)
@Vanessa: Cheers Vanessa :)
My favourite one is tomorrow.
Sorry I've not visited your site yet, computers being playing up!
Such unusual animal, do you know that there are quite a few tales in Africa about white lions? Unfortunately I forgot them :(
She also seems to enjoy the sun, was she purring?
18 Sep 2007 7:26am
@Manuela Photography: They are quite rare, they have 12 at this park, 4 adults and 8 cubs, but we only saw three adults :( I could imagine she was purring it was a lovely sunny day :)
@Shutterbug: They are very magestic animals! the male was very impressive,(he is a white Lion also ) I'm still looking through the photos and maybe I will post one of him at a later date :)
@Myst: Thank you Myst :) they were georgous!
She is so beautiful, I just wish she were free, in her own space out where she belongs...
18 Sep 2007 10:57am
@Lorraine: It would be fabulous if they could be free, the one consolation is that they do have a huge expanse of the park and are very well looked after too, which is a blessing :)
@Nenad: Thank you Nenad for your kind comment and visit :)
She was quite far away and she seemed to be enjoying the sun :)
@Shahab: She was soooo white Shahab, it was amazing to see her :)
@Ned: Thank you Ned, she was a real beauty :)
Hope you and your hams are well :)
@jen: Thank you Jen :) it was a big suprise to see how white they were, the male was a little less white but magnificent non the less.
What a beautiful animal Mary, thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Rob

@Rob: Thank you Rob :) we nearly missed her she was sitting quite far back by the perimiter fence and we did quickly wind the window down for this one :)
@Nick Passantino: Thank you Nick she is one of 12 white lions at the park, 8 cubs and 4 adults, there is one fully grown male in the pride, who was very magestic :)
wow,did u say you took it from a moving vehicle?And in between a fence now!You are amazing!
18 Sep 2007 4:00pm
@tyan: Oh! tyan I wish I was that good lol. The car was moving very slowly and there was NO fence between us and any of the lions, they were free to roam in a huge part of the park, which was entered and exited through 2 huge electitrified gates. I think that is what made it soooo very amazing!
Thank you :)
@HorseRotorVator: Thank you HRV :) they were one of the most amazing animals I've ever seen.
@Mandy: Oh Mandy it was amazing to see these beautiful creatures free to roam, and it was something I won't forget for a very long time :) thank you.
Incredible photo Mary! :) a ittle poor quality, but doesn't really matter in this pic, it's brilliant anyways :)

@Erik: Thank you Erik, :)
I was the first time I'd seen a White Lioness, they were absolutly amazing :)
She looks so peaceful Mary - felines are excellent at relaxation - they need no yoga classes :)
I just noticed that you come from Staffordshire - my ancient relatives are from there- there are some small towns named for them :) cheers Bron
18 Sep 2007 7:18pm
@Bron: They are Bron, she looked really serene stitting there in the sun :)
Oh wow! do you know the names of the towns, that is really interesting Bron. Maybe I could get some photographs of them if there not too far away :)
Wow, she is a truly splendid one!! Again, an absolutely fantastic capture, dear brave Mary!! :)

@Rebecca: Awww! thank you Rebecca :)
it was amazing to see these wild animals in the flesh and roaming free!
@Michael: Thank you Michael :)
She is very beautiful, I really wish I could have seen the cubs, they have 8 of them but they were hiding :)
statuesque and surely 'proud as a lioness' can be. Lovely captured lion expression, but I guess the security fence you cropped out was a necessary intrusion, as I wouldn't want to be dinner to madam lion there......
18 Sep 2007 10:35pm
@Richard_Irwin: She was a grand lady indeed, yes, that fence is very necessary, I don't know if you've visited the WM Safari Park Richard, but to get into the area where they are kept, you have to go through 2 very large electrified gates, and there are rangers present in landrovers to keep an eye out for any problems. You have to keep your car windows shut of course, just incase they deside they want to come and say hello!
That is so beautiful Mary - amazing pic there well done :-)
18 Sep 2007 10:53pm
@Nickyj: Thanks Nicky, it was a lovely day, and it was great fun trying to be an acrobat to get these pics from inside the car LOL :D
Without a fence on the picture, cropping would also contribute to its quality I guess. Awesome shot!

@Erik: Thank you Erik :)
I love this one. Haven't really seen an Albino Lion before.
