Hello everyone we're back, very exhausted after 10 days of touring down the to the west coast of Italy and back by bus! We started off from the Midlands at 3.30am on Friday the 5th October and visited the following places, Brussels Belgium, Saturday Switzerland and over the Alps via the San Gottdard pass (in fog!!) Sunday on to the Spa town of Fiuggi Italy, (our base for 4 days) On Monday we went to the City of Pompeii, Tuesday Rome, Wednesday Naples and the Isle of Capri, Thursday we travled to Montecatini, and a day in Pisa, Friday morning we left and traveled through Switzerland to Dijon in France. Saturday we traveled to the beautiful city of Paris. Sunday we left Paris to Calais and onward to home arriving at 7.30 pm on the 14th October!
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)

Quite a haul! Hope you enjoyed it!

@Bron: Thank you hun :) It was awesome! I've never seen so many beautiful places in one trip! we are totally exhausted but it has been more than worth it! We ate too much pasta, drank too much wine, and had hardly any sleep! so it's good to be back for a rest :D
Welcome back MaryB! Missed ya! But it sounds as if the trip was filled with all kinds of cool stuff. This is a great capture. A dumb American question -- what is this Atomium in Brussels? It kind of reminds me of the big geodesic ball at Epcot Center, Disneyworld.

@Viewfinder: Thank you VF, I've missed being here but it was an amazing whirlwind journey, thats for sure :D we did get to see some amazing sights, the highlight was the Vatican City and St Peters Basilica. It was more than I could take in! this is the Atomium, it was made for the 1958 Expo, I think it is supposed to be an atom but not too sure, we've had so much information told us I wish I'd written a journal of everything we did :) http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j135/snow_flake58/P1070836.jpg
Neat shot Mary! Sounds like you had a great time.

@Mandy: Mandy, it was Awesome!! to see so many amazing places in one trip was mind blowing! although it has been a dream since a small child to visit Pompeii Italy, the most fabulous place was the Vatican City and St. Peter's Basillica in Rome! (I have taken a short video which I'll put the link to when I post the pictures) It was such an emotional visit, first thing I did, when we walked through the doors was cry I was so overwhelmed LOL :D
Aaaaaah you came to Belgium! And did you like it? I was 18 when I saw the atomium the 1st time! I lived in country side and I never went to brussels before. After that, I lived in Brussels for 3 years, not so far from the Atomium. I hope you liked my country! Atomuim was build for the "expo 58", an universal exposition (brussels' world's fair). There is museum inside. For a long time, we didn't know if we would keep it or destroy it. Finally, Belgium would have been too sad to unbuild it and decided to renovate it.

@Sophie: YES! Sophie it's such a beautiful country :) I've been to Ostend a few times and really love it, but it was the first time in Brussels, it is such a beautiful city! We only had a short time to photograph here, and then we went to our hotel. We spent the evening in Brussels the square is soooo very beautiful the architecture is amazing!
Very powerful picture, I hope it will give you the strength needed to recover from this experience! I also hope you made enough pictures because it will give you opportunity to re-experience and process what you saw in your mind.

@Illuci: Thank you dear Erik :) I took 649 pictures LOL :D but I could have taken more :) we forgot our video camera!!!! a really big mistake! It has to have been the longest journey we have taken in a bus, all the way from the middle of England, down to Naples in Italy, stopping on the way there and back in various hotels. We didn't get a lot of sleep but we saw such a lot, it was worth it :) The highlight was the Vatican City and St Peter's Basillica, I was sooooo overwhelmed by sight that met my eyes as I walked in, it would be difficult to put it into words. The Pope was in residence and held an audience the day after we were there! so we missed it! But it is something I'll never forget.
WOW! What a trip, and what a nice shot here! Lucky that you are well back!
