Peaceful Now.

This scene in Pompeii October 2007 looks so peaceful, not so in AD 79 when the Volcano, (in the background) Vesuvius erupted!
One of the many arches still standing in Pompeii.
It's hard to belive that the city lay hidden under volcanic ash and pumice for nearly 1,700 years, before it was discovered accidently in the mid 1700's
