The Colosseum, Rome, Italy.
The building of the Colosseum was started around 71 A.D. and finished around 80 A.D, it was the largest Amphitheatre built in the Roman Empire, it was in use for around 500 years. The Colosseum could seat 50,000 and was used for executions, Gladiator contest, animal contests, plays and re-enactments, and other public specticals. The last recorded games were held there in the 6th Century.
Today it is in the condition it's in because, in the past it has been, the victim of stone robbers and earthquakes.
This is just one of the amazing sites in Rome that will take your breath away!

I'll be late visiting your blogs today, as I'll be working with my husband today and every day for the next two weeks.
