OK, I've had a wee bit of a problem with Firefox, and can't seem to connect to the internet! LOL :D but thankfully it hasn't effected the connection to my hubby or sons sections...... phew! and I can access here through one of them :) a friend is coming over at the weekend to see what I've done, he's a computer wizz so he'll soon sort it out for me :) I was a little frustraited to say the least so I did a little simple pp (I only have MS picture manager atm) using the colour, contrast and midtone, on another rose photograph, to chill me, and so a mini rose series was born :D
not the original photo but the original rose use for this. http://through-a-lens.aminus3.com/image/2007-10-14.html
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)
I really appreciate all your comments, thank you so much. I'm only sorry I've not got time to respond. I do read all the comments and will try to answer any questions you have about my posts :)
It's gorgeous

@Images by KC Photography: Thank you KC, it was great fun to do, and it has inspired me to do some more pp
Mary - THIS IS STUNNING!!! Wow, what an awesome shot. I love the processing, it makes it feel so old and brittle. really stunning and I love the slight tint of pink?? in the middle.

@Mandy: Awww Mandy thank you :) I was really pleased the way it turned out, the original colour of the rose was cream. I started out with the intention of a peach colour but in the end after a few tweeks with the colour the pink looked more delicate. I was amazed what I could do with this simple little program and I'm hooked now, so there is more to come :)
WOW, what an amazingly great shot, lovely work !

@ColNed Pictures: Thank you ColNed :) I found this very relaxing to do, so I did a few more and now there is a mini series of pp roses :)
Impossible! Are they made of paper? They are just too pretty for words!

@badala: Thank you Badala, It's a real rose, I thought the way it worked out that it looked like paper too and nearly titled it Paper Rose. I've now added a link on the page with a photo of the rose that I used :)
One of the most impressive rose pictures I ever saw! What an idea to picture it like that, like Light and Life winning the battle with Darkness and Death! This one would sell as a poster! BTW don't let your life being dominated by computer problems. I also have had problems with Firefox, in itself it seems to be a good browser but some programs are tailormade to Microsoft and are not totally supported by Firefox, so I cannot use Picasa for making picture webpages (which it's supposed to be able to) because Picasa chooses the Firefox browser automatically and then it says it can't perform the task. Firefox also refuses to support internet communication between my home and work (where they use MS). I only use MS Picture Manager, I find Photoshop too expensive (Dutch!) and it will cost me still more time spent at pictures.

@Illuci: Thank you Erik :) That is a wonderful compliment. I had a few titles for this one, Paper Rose, Beauty from the darkness, Hope and a few others. You have described perfectly what this photograph is about. I was very pleased with the way it has turned out, so pleased that I took three different shots of the rose and post processed them too.
I have no computer knowlege so I really should have consulted my friend before downloading Firefox, but all is well, my son and husband still have access to the internet and I can still acess AM3 :)
Simply stunning Mary. Beautifully done. Have to agree with it being the best rose image I've seen.

Bravo Mary! The word bella is weak.

I hope you fix your internet problem. Nevertheless, you did a great job even if you only had picture manager. It shows the mark of true talent. :)

Stunning shot again Mary, looks so fragile!

You did a fine job on this editing, very impressive, from a newbie. I know the frustration well. Don't you wish you knew more about computers at a time like this? Too much to digest, computers/photography/ life!!!
I have a favor to ask of all my aminus3 friends here. Please rate me on coolphotoblogs.com so I can get on the listing at least. Thank You.

MaryB. This rose is beautiful, and you have captured its delicacy and vibrancy all in one image. Bravo!
I am sorry your continuing computer woes go on. Firefox is supposed to be so great; but anyone I've known with it has found it has lots of problems -- all described well by you and Erik. In an MS world, it's a roll of the dice to introduce a different browser. I don't do Mac, but those who do swear it's the best. Then you have available program limitations... so, what's a person to do?

That is a very gentle photo, Mary

That's the most beautiful rose I've even seen captured...You win the Award...
Sorry about Firefox, I like it, but this morning it gave me problems, but you know when it says that it can't connect to the page, ignore it and just type in an other site, it takes some getting used to. PS I've kept AOL and IE just in case it annoyed me too much:)

This is such a beautiful picture of a rose. I love the processing too Mary! Hope you get your browser problems sorted out. The last version of Firefox had some problems with just crashing suddenly. They've resolved that issue with the new version that is out now! Don't you get it updated automatically? ;-)
