I thought I would warm things up a bit :) Taken 2 weekends ago at Bridgnorth Shropshire UK. Thank you all so very much for your wonderful comments on yesterday's post, I'm overwhelmed thank you once again, bless you all :) Well! I stayed up till 4am to try and catch the eclipse, and guess what the sky is cloudy, the first in ages! lol so typical. :)
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)

Wicked glow in this shot! I didn't even realise there was an eclipse last night, i don't think I would've made it til 4am though!

Looks haunted and fabulous :)

This is not only a warm shot, it's dramatic. The gnarled bare tree in the foreground seems to want to obscure St. Mary's, and yet her presence there is quite evident and impossible to hide. Perhaps this is really more than a photo, but also a metaphor? Wonderful, wonderful scene you've captured Mary.

Hey Mary! VERY nicely done!! The colour of that sky is wonderful. It has a bit of an exotic edge with the shape of the building in silhouette. Love the framing of this too!! I tried to get some shots of the eclipse too. 'Course I was lucky enough to view it at 8pm. We'll see how they turned out. Went through two batteries because of the cold just sucking the power out! LOL

Mary, this is warm and well composed - love it!

I love these soft orange shades! It's high time that colour returns after a long winter!

Beautiful golden glow! And I love the exposure of all the tree's branches against the lighted background.
I witnessed the eclipse with my neighbor under clear skies, but bone-chilling temps. I was hoping to use my new camera but didn't know (at the time) what would be best to adjust: the shutter speed or the aperture.

Wow, the depth of tones here and permeating quiet beauty on so many levels, completely awes me. This really is utterly breathtaking, dear Mary. We found it too cloudy over here last night for any good sight of the eclipse as well. :( Oh well, we'll maybe try again in 2010. :)

Thanks for warming it up Mary. We could use a break. Nice tones and composition. That tree looks strangely familiar. :)

Hi Mary: Finally, I think you will have a link to my blog! I have signed in and out till I am blue in the face - but still people said they had 'lost' me. I just came from another blog where I realized that the website field in the message posting thingy was blank. I typed it in manually and lo and behold now I am at your blog it is still there with no option to type it in. So hopefully - you will get a link now! I have posted many posts over the past month at least - and hardly anybody visiting me at all! Well, of course, if they have no link to click on they are not going to bother looking it up when they have so many to get around. Ah! the frustrations. Thank you for letting me know - because I was posting blissfully unaware, until I got your message and one from ManuelaR that she couldn't visit me!
Anyway to your photo: I think this is beautiful as most of your photos are. The filter adds to the silhouette effect wonderfully! :-)
