The grape hyacinths in my garden surrounded by the white powdery snow.
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)

I like this one and the previous capture MB... ever try to see what Walking in Wonderland would look like in monochrome?
Cheers,

@Rob: Thank you Rob, I have tried it in mono and it does look quite nice, I'm in the process of trying to give it an old tinted effect to see how that looks. :)
Hope you and yours are ok, still thinking of you all. MaryB
Good framing and bright colors for this beautiful picture where winter and spring mix well.

beautiful capture. not the ordinary flower shot. nice title too. ...so that's what hyacinths look like. do they normally grow in the cold?
9 Apr 2008 2:34pm
@danthro: Thank you danthro, these are a very tiny variety of Hyacinth, a spring flower. They seem to be quite a tough little flower as the snow didn't seem to bother them too much. We don't normally get snow this late in the year, apparently it was the heaviest snowfall in April for 20 years :)
Great natural colors :)! Also a nice spring postcard! I love it! BTW Thanks for your comment on the skipping rope, it was exactly how I felt it! My sister was also surprised and when I asked my son (a pc games addict) he said that at his school rope jumping or skipping was quite usual, so not everything disappears, children here play also fanatically with marbles in the proper season (autumn I believe).

Its beautifully crisp, the subject matter is really enhanced by the strange addition of snow and spring flower. The composition is excellent.
