Solar Panels.Posted by MaryB (Staffordshire, United Kingdom) on 11 April 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. I'm sticking my neck out with this one lol :D it's not a bird, animal or flower, it's not even a solar panel as the title suggests :D I thought I'd post something a little different today :) This is part of a cut work domed sculpture, that sit's on top of a building in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire UK.
Have a great weekend, will be back on Monday. ............................................................................................................

Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceRepetition and shadows with light create a beautiful grafic and bright picture there. I hope all these suns will give us more warmth today... 11 Apr 2008 6:33am Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South AfricaWow, I really like it mary!! Nice lighting which highlights the cutouts! I'd say a pretty cool image all round. 11 Apr 2008 6:40am Nishana Minhaz from Calicut, IndiaAt first when I'd read only the title,I was thinking that u have very different kind of solar panels in ur country :) very interesting architecture.. 11 Apr 2008 7:32am tyan from Singapore, SingaporeVery nice structure, useful and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.Worth sticking out your head for this!:) 11 Apr 2008 9:04am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesInteresting shape and textures ... the cut-outs provide a nice abstract take as you see what lies behind ... I think we can safely say that your boldness was a successful venture out of your safety zone! 11 Apr 2008 9:10am Saeed from Tehran, IranGreat shot. i like the contrast , Lighting & Shadows . . . 11 Apr 2008 10:03am Tracey from White Hall, United StatesI really like it Mary! And the title is cool ;0) Refelctive surfaces are difficult to shoot and you did a wonderful job! 11 Apr 2008 11:46am Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomVery interesting Mary, by the way do you work you seem to have so much time to take photos. Reminds me of the box in hellraiser but without the evil intentions of a gateway to hell or maybe not http://web.bvu.edu/students/pickbry/images/wallpaper/box03.jpg 11 Apr 2008 12:19pm @Peter Miller: Cheers Peter :) drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomThis is cool! I like the close crop and love the title =D) Dan 11 Apr 2008 1:07pm Man With 101 Names from Hamburg, United StatesWell I think solar panel is a HOT title and this is a well composed shot ... You get an A+ today Miss Mary B :o) 11 Apr 2008 2:43pm @Man With 101 Names: Thank you Rob, you've made my day :D Observing from Chester, United KingdomHi Mary, it is certainly different, and it's a very interesting object, is there a light inside?. Very good photo, let's have some more.....! 11 Apr 2008 2:50pm @Observing: Thanks Mike :) Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsMysterious design, looks like something esoteric, beautiful those suns on this regular multifaceted ... (whatever it maybe). The suns suggest hotness but the colors are very cool and calm. 11 Apr 2008 2:51pm Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsOh I forgot to read the title, but they don't seem to be solar energy panels :) 11 Apr 2008 2:52pm @Illuci: Thank you Erik, unfortunatly they aren't solar panels, it would be cool if they were though. I was playing with words when I chose the title :) amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaNicley done, Mary! Love the title, too! Have super weekend... it's supposed to get up to +18 here this weekend!! WooHoo!!! 11 Apr 2008 3:01pm @amy: Cheers Amy :) vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Quebec, CanadaI really like this one! Great graphical simplicity! 11 Apr 2008 4:21pm @vu@granby - Wolfgang: Thank you Wolfgang :) Rob from Velveetaville, United StatesVery outside the box for you MB but it is wonderful. I feel the warmth of the sun when I look at this, thanks. Cheers, Rob 11 Apr 2008 5:27pm @Rob: thank you Rob :) @Michael: Thank you Michael :) DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomCool shot, but I think it'd be even better if the whole frame was filled with the object, or maybe with just with one of the sunbursts. I think the change in colour around the edges due to reflections is distracting in this one! 11 Apr 2008 6:39pm @DaveB: Thanks for the feedback Dave :) danthro from Suburbia, United Statescool composition and tones. there's something captivating about the patterns. 11 Apr 2008 6:44pm @danthro: Thank you :) standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceBeautiful composition. I like the geometry here. You captured the light perfectly! 11 Apr 2008 7:59pm @standley: thank you Richard :) Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot, like the colours of this. Have to agree with DaveB on filling the frame. 11 Apr 2008 8:37pm @Graham Russon: Cheers Graham :) Anne from White Rock, CanadaLovely shot Mary! I think if you cropped it to only one sunflare, as suggested, you would lose the geometry and it would be a boring photo. I like it a lot! :-) 11 Apr 2008 10:46pm @Anne: Thank you Anne, it's great to get feedback. @Elisa: Thank you Elisa :) bronzebilly u.k. from Barry,Vale of Glamorgan, United KingdomGreat design MaryB..well spotted...but hang about..what's this ace image I just found:- 11 Apr 2008 11:34pm @bronzebilly u.k.: Cheers BillyB :) Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesThe repetition creates good interest! 11 Apr 2008 11:52pm @Craig: Thanks Craig :) Gary from Cochise County, United StatesGood job on this one Ina. With all those angles it could get tricky with the light , but you nailed it. 12 Apr 2008 12:04am @Gary: Cheers Gary :) Rags from Plano, United StatesThat is one cool work of art. Thanks for sharing it with us. 12 Apr 2008 2:14am @Rags: Thank you :) Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesI won't ask how you got to the top of the building but it does make an interesting photo with the silver and blue and abstract nature...:-) 12 Apr 2008 11:58am @Earnest: Thank you Earnest, thankfully I didn't have to do any climbing, I took this from the car park :) Stunner from Kingston, Jamaicagreat shot and use of the repetition Mary! that is an interesting piece of artwork. 13 Apr 2008 12:55am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI like the various planes and the play of light and shadow on them. 13 Apr 2008 2:03am Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaVery nice isolation of the subject matter.
