Thank you all so much for the amazing comments on the birds, I'm overwhelmed.
I was going to post another bird shot but couldn't make up my mind which one to post lol, so I picked this one from one of the many shooting attractions that were at the fair, here a young boy tries his hand at the crossbow.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, will catch up with you all over the weekend, will be back Monday.

Something I loved to do as a kid. Great image, Mary!

Great shot Mary, very good DOF:)

Terrific composition, MaryB ... I might have given just a bit more definition (deeper DOF) to his target, but it certainly doesn't take away from the fact that you've captured a very intent, and steady young man, here!

My son asks "is it tough to re-load the bow" (he is ten and can make himself understandable in English, his specialty is dirty words :). It could have been him on the picture! (Only he has to see the hairdresser :)

BTW I put it on large and saw there's tiny fly on the picture, right above the boy's hair :).

I've always been a loser in things like that :) Great shot!

The DOF (with not so in-focus target) and vivid red of his jacket make for some great visual drama, as seen over the shoulder of this young guy.

Nice way to capture the concentration of the shooter without showing his face, bravo!

Striking image Mary - I love how you've come down to his level, you almost get the feeling of shooting the crossbow.

A great photo.... and very kind for the lad - if he missed the target is blurred so it doesn't matter - we all think he's an expert marksman! ;)

Nice framing. The red cloth is great with the colors in the background. You could remove the flying mosquitoe and may be the short black string (?) on the top. Nice shot.
