The sunshine is so rich on the buttercups. Against that bright blue sky they are like brilliant little suns. 16 May 2008 12:24pm Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomBeautiful capture MAry, great contrasting colours, my one and only criticism is the little spot that is a lighter blue, looks like dust on the lens or sensor, Oh yes, see if you recognise the location of my post today 16 May 2008 12:57pm @Peter Miller: Thanks Peter, :) That little pale blue spot is a mystery, out of the 5 or so shot's, I took of the flower, this is the only one it appears on! One thought is, it could have been an insect. I should have gotten rid of it really but I was having so much trouble with the computer yesterday, I just posted it as it was :) Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomMary, it is on the chase visitor centre, there are many of these creations on there, thanks for the link 16 May 2008 1:09pm Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomLooked at the link, looks very interesting but not sure if I want to pay £15.00 but you never know 16 May 2008 1:12pm Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyThis really marvellous, Mary! 16 May 2008 7:22pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot, love the contrast against the sky. have a great weekend. 16 May 2008 8:15pm Observing from Chester, United KingdomHi Mary... re: spot on photo mentioned by peter, I think it's a ufo.... :-O 16 May 2008 8:24pm @Observing: LOL :D you might just be right Mike :) standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceSuperb composition Mary. I hope you're having an awesome weekend 18 May 2008 9:34am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful colors and light, MaryB ... yellow and blue are among my favorite spring colors ... but, then again, I'm not sure there are any colors of spring of which I'm not fond ... the sun has shone brightly all weekend and I've finally been able to get the lawn mowed ... we're having the wettest spring on record (here in the center of the U.S. - but we do so very desperately need the rain). 18 May 2008 10:05am Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesAfter leaving you a FIVE STAR rating on your image, I want to thank you for your comment on my old photo taken in Yosemite National Park. 18 May 2008 11:38pm Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeWow that's simply stunningly beautiful! The macro is great and the background really brings out the yellow of the flowers! Well done! 19 May 2008 12:53am Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsGreat to have that bright yellow so detailed in your macro! (With me, the details often vanish partly because of the yellow's brightness). It also frustrates me sometimes that flower colors you see in nature can seldom be recorded on a photograph the way you experience them. But you have succeeded here! 19 May 2008 7:13am Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United Statesbeautiful composition...gorgeous light...great perspective. Well done! 19 May 2008 12:31pm Anthony Lambert from GermanyWhen I was at junoir school, the girls used to hold a buttercup under your chin and if it reflected yellow on your skin it was said that you liked butter.I don´t know about liking butter,I certainly like this photo. 19 May 2008 1:47pm |
