I brought these poppies on Saturday, but the weather was so awful, high winds and driving rain, I thought it was a pity to put them outside to get batterd to death so I'm keeping them on my window in the bedroom, (they obviously like it there as lot's more buds have appeared and opened) for a wee while at least until the weather improves :) Please view large :)
Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome :)
I really appreciate all your comments, thank you so much. I'm only sorry I've not got time to respond. I do read all the comments and will try to answer any questions you have about my posts :)

They are truly lovely Mary, but you may have to wait out a bit longer before planting them out, this gloomy wet bank holiday week just seems to go on and on......

A beautiful composition with the rain-dotted window and lush green beyond ... they really are a particularly beautiful species and you've captured their beauty in this photo, MaryB.

What a great composition Mary. Nice that you have such a perfect window garden in your bedroom. I agree with Michael S. - this has something of an oil painting look to it. Just to take that idea a bit further along, I'd be tempted to mess with it a bit on photoshot to add some kind of artistic brush or texture to the whole thing.

@Viewfinder: Thank you VF :) I'll post a watercolour effect on another of the poppy pics, that I'll create in Photoshop on Friday. Thank you for the idea, it will be fun to see what it looks like :)
umm... that would be "photoshoP" not photoshot. I knew that. ;D

Wonderful light on these delicate poppies. I like contrast between happy colors of flowers and rain on the window who breed melancholy .

This is just a perfect picture. The poppies look translucent against your beautiful picture window with the lush greens behind and the rain drops on the window. The detail and colors are incredible. I love it just like it is, but viewfinder is right you could have a blast playing with this one. Kudos for an excellent capture. Five stars in my opinion.

A wonderful picture! (And I know that feeling when it's time to protect the plants, especially in winter, when I go out at midnight and put another blanket on my treeferns.)
