Harald from Frankfurt am Main, GermanyWhat a traffic. That is why i go by train. Great capture 16 Jul 2008 8:24am tyan from Singapore, Singaporewhat a magnificient structure...it looks like this world is becoming overcrowded!!To answer your question, its the 16th:) 16 Jul 2008 8:25am @tyan: The 16th............That's today! woohoo! happy birthday dear Tyan, have a wonderful day :) Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomNice zoom, looks like the M6 on a Friday night 16 Jul 2008 9:04am António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalIn this perspective the bridge makes a sort of wave. And it's a testimony of how our everyday life is marred by traffic congestion. 16 Jul 2008 9:06am Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesTraffic like this makes me want to shudder. Being in a bus makes it somebody else's job to navigate through it all. This is a very good photo of congestion. 16 Jul 2008 11:13am Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesThis is both an architectural shot and a shot of transportation! 16 Jul 2008 11:24am @Judy: Thanks Judy :) Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South AfricaYou can definitely see the change in the light - this one is a far harsher light than yesterday's soft afternoon glow.....wow and look at all that traffic! :) Nice shot Mary 16 Jul 2008 12:18pm Tracey from White Hall, United StatesOh my, Mary. That is quite the traffic. I had a mild heart palpitation when the shot came up! After living in the boondocks for 3 years now, I can no longer handle this kind of traffic. A great capture of city life! 16 Jul 2008 12:28pm Cheryl from Texas, United Stateswhat an awsome bridge! this is a great composition! it shows off the nice lines of the bridge very well. I think I see some reflection from the bus window down in the right corner? doesn't matter, good image, nice capture. 16 Jul 2008 12:54pm @Cheryl: Thanks Cheryl, when I first saw this bridge, it took my breath away lol. Mike from Lichfield, United KingdomHow I'd hate to be stuck in traffic like that every day. Great angle you've taken the bridge from. 16 Jul 2008 1:04pm @Mike: Cheers Mike, thankfully we weren't driving, but as busy as it looks, and with 85,000 vehicles per day on the bridge alone! it was moving pretty quickly. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomWow.... that is a great shot Mary. I like how the depth is compressed, and the angle is brilliant. I've been thru Dartford tunnel but over not the bridge. 16 Jul 2008 2:53pm @Observing: Thanks Mike, it was a lovely soft sunny morning, and the bridge looked amazing, as the road is 65mtrs above the water, you get a great view from up there. zOOm from Paris, FranceHeavy traffic it sems ! Wow ! Lines and cars everywhere ! 16 Jul 2008 4:03pm @zOOm: This is a very busy bridge, around 85,000 vehicles per day, and topping 1000 at peak times. @Alun Lambert: Thanks Alun :) Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesLove the soft, morning light, here, MaryB. Mix that beautiful soft light with all the vertical and horizontal lines, throw in the flow of traffic and you have a fine photo. Is this the way to the "white cliffs"? 16 Jul 2008 5:26pm @Ron: Thank you Ron, yes it is, only about an hours drive from Dover. when you cross this bridge, the view along the Thames Estuary is amazing, the height of the road deck is 65 mtrs above the water, so you get a great view. Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat slice of life shot, the composition is great especially the lines of the bridge and power lines. Good work. 16 Jul 2008 7:19pm Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesWhat an interesting coincidence that we both shared a photo of a bridge seen from an angle rarely seen. There is a lot of symmetry expressed in this capture that leads to the "flow" of the traffic. 16 Jul 2008 9:07pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceSuperb shot Mary. The lighting is exceptional. Is the tunnel still in use? 16 Jul 2008 10:15pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaWonderful shot Mary. A very busy bridge indeed. Love the early morning light that the bridge is bathed in. 16 Jul 2008 11:26pm Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesGreat capture Mary! I like this a lot! 16 Jul 2008 11:29pm akarui from Kagoshima, JapanA nice angle with the diagonale of the bridge followed by the curves. All those vertical lines and the electic wires and their parralel on the road ramp below make a very nice grid in the picture. 16 Jul 2008 11:55pm Lorraine from CanadaSeriously? Taken through a window? what clarity, fantastic shooting there hun ;) 17 Jul 2008 1:24pm Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanA very good capture indeed, Mary! Most dynamic!By the way, it can very well be here, in Yokohama, or in Tokyo.....almost same type of bridge construction! 26 Jul 2008 9:49am |
