DragonflyPosted by MaryB (Staffordshire, United Kingdom) on 7 October 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. We went for a walk the other day, back to the little pond on Cannock Chase Forest, where we had found all the Dragonflies the week before. Although they wasn't as many flying around, I did see one large DF dive bombing the moss on the water. First impression was that it was after some food, so imagine my suprise when I found out what it was after. There was a female DF laying eggs in the water! Her wings were covered in water droplets that glistend in the sun. This shot was one of the best due to where it was, there were lots of blades of grass in the way and I was leaning too far over as it was to get a clear shot with my hubby hanging onto my coat, so as I didn't fall in and disturb her! lol ............................................................................................................
