This is only an opinion Mary...I prefer the B & W version. The sad eyes come through better this way I think. It is amazing how we treat other species. But, it is more amazing how we treat each other. :0(

Mary, I like both versions, but love the pink of his tongue in the color one. Selective color could have worked with your B 'n W ... I haven't mastered that, but you may have.
His soulful look just pulls at my heart; I think he's saying "Someone took my car and all they left was this tire!"

I am sad for this one, her eyes reflect so much sadness and boredom and longing for what life could and should have been for her. Yet out in the wild these beautiful creatures are being hunted to the point of endangerment and beyond. What will it take to cause people to realize the unnecessary pain we inflict on ourselves and on other species of God's creation -- and then do something about it to change our uncaring ways? Thank you for this very important reminder of our need to change; may God help people around the world to come to that same realization. And then do it.

I think the B/W works very well I have to say this animal looks very sad indeed,but the Western Lowland Gorilla is such an endangered animal at the very least she will be very well looked after and nobody is going to shoot her and maybe eat her because this is what they do were they come from it's a catch 22 situation !

B&W is a good choice. He looks very sad indeed, but i don't know what is the best for him : the life but in captivity or the death in his natural environment where he is in danger... because of human beings....

I really like it best in b&w. I checked out the color. It really adds to the mood of his/her sadness. I wonder what he/she is thinking. Perhaps he/she doesn't want to change the tire?!? :D

Yes, when I see gorillas (chimps and orang utans have it less) I also notice a sad attitude and posture. I don't know if this is a true mood of the animals, but I'm afraid it is. Kind of resigning themselves to their fate. You expressed this look very well MaryB, an oustanding animal picture!
