BIG Momma Spider

Posted by MaryB (Staffordshire, United Kingdom) on 30 October 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Wow! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who posted their self portraits and who left such wonderful comments on my offering yesterday. It was an exciting day, you could almost feel a buzz coming from the site. BIG thanks to DJ and Isao for getting this together :)

I must apologise to anyone who dislikes spiders, for this post, as it's halloween tomorrow, I thought I'd take a chance and post this today. :)

This BIG (biggest I've ever seen, around the house or garden, I have to say) momma spider, was in our shed when we moved it. When we first came across her she was feasting on an earwig yummy! lol She had lot's of nests of baby spiders there and she was very protective of them. We think that the transition of the shed complete with momma and babies went ok, we tried our best for them :)

View large size...............if you dare! :D
